What is the best outdoor deck material?

simple put, Ipe or ironwood will out perform any other outdoor decking.

Ipe is the hardest, densest ,toughest decking material. the ultra density of Ipe (does not float in water) makes it incredibly durable, insects do not attack it, it does not rot or decay like lesser woods. rain and weather do not penetrate crack and splinter it's hard surface. It is a beautiful sustainable natural wood (the forest stewardship council or FSC is counseling Ipe harvesting).

Ipe looks amazing when oiled or allowed to weather to a wonderful silver patina. and of course Ipe does not rely on our oil reserves to produce like a composite material would.
